I have the privilege of running the Fairfield County Turn and Burn 4-H Horse Club! The club is based out of Rosewood Farm. We have a wonderful group of kids that range from beginners through advanced. 4-H is a national program that is geared toward educating children and young adults about various agricultural programs. The horse club is geared specifically for horse enthusiasts! There is a monthly meeting held during the school year at Rosewood Farm that the club members run in proper business format. Children learn to speak in front of an audience as well as learn about the importance of teamwork. There is always an activity for the kids, that frequently includes riding horses or some aspect of horse care. Clemson Extension Service is responsible for the materials included in the program. There is a $10 yearly membership fee that includes a t-shirt. This membership fee allows that child to participate in ANY 4-h program. The club has 3 age groups:

Cloverbuds- Ages 5-8 years old

Juniors- 9-14 years old

Seniors- 15-18 years old

Meetings are held monthly during the school year at Rosewood Farm. The address of the farm is 703 Rosewood Lane, Winnsboro, SC 29180. This was at a Trail Class Clinic hosted by Rosewood Farm. It's never too early to start teaching. These club members are assisting a young child navigate the obstacle course and playing follow the leader!
